I recognized the handwriting instantly! The neatly balanced alphabets written with a ball point blue pen pressed hard. How much they took this seriously.I opened the envelope carefully to find a beautiful card wishing me luck for my exam. My heart was heavy with guilt.I hadn't put in as much effort as I should have to deserve to receive the card.
There was another one. For you dear daughter on your Birthday it read. The words , which I read slowly, filled my heart with yearning and my eyes with tears.I tried hard. A lump began to form in my throat.I couldn't let any one see me cry.
Funny it was to wonder at that point if I was really going to turn 24 when I still cried on receiving postal cards from my Parents.
I composed myself.Dreaded being away from home. Called and spoke like the little girl of my parents and thanked them while they talked about the speed at which the cards had reached to my desk. I smiled.
Love you mamma and papa!
